Here's how it works:<\/p><ol class=\"thrv_wrapper\"><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">The creator of a new product wants to spread the word quickly. So, he creates an \"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cj.com\/what-is-affiliate-marketing\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">affiliate program<\/a>\" that rewards others for promoting his product.<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">You join the program as an affiliate&nbsp;and earn a commission every time you sell his product. <span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">You don't have to create anything - you just sell on behalf of the product creator.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">You promote the product or service to your followers; they buy it, and you get paid a percentage each sale.<\/li><\/ol><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">The thought of selling someone else's product might not sit well with you at first, but there are some pretty <a href=\"http:\/\/growtraffic.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/affiliate-marketing-success-stories\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">significant benefits to selling products<\/a> as an affiliate:<\/p><ol class=\"thrv_wrapper\"><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">You don't have to invest the time and money into creating a new product, program, or service.<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">You don't have to deal with customer questions since the product creator takes care of that in most situations.<\/li><li class=\"\">You can start earning passive income right away!\u200b<\/li><li class=\"\">These is little risk. If it doesn't work out for you, pack up and move on.<\/li><\/ol><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">I joined my first affiliate program many years ago and still remember the rush I got when my first affiliate commission payment came in. <span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">It didn't feel like I had done any work, but I was still getting paid.<\/span><\/span> <\/p><p>I was hooked!<\/p><h2 class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">How to Get Started with Fitness Affiliate Marketing<\/h2><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Getting started as an affiliate marketer isn't difficult, but many people try and fail because they rush through the steps. Here's the plan of action I recommend you follow in order to be successful:<\/p><h3 class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Step 1: Determine What Your Followers Need or Want<\/h3><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">There are a LOT of affiliate programs out there, especially in the health and fitness industry (more on that in a minute), but don't just pick the first program you find.<\/p><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_custom_html_shortcode\" style=\"margin-bottom: -20px !important;\"><iframe src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/xT5LMWUtF9BrvDB4yc\" width=\"600\" height=\"366\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"giphy-embed\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><p><a href=\"http:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/aris-1920s-flapper-prohibition-xT5LMWUtF9BrvDB4yc\"><\/a><\/p><div class=\"tve_iframe_cover\"><\/div><\/div><p class=\"tve_p_center italic_text\">Would your clients really want to buy this?<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Remember that you are going to be paid when you make a sale. So, it's crucial to consider what your clients or followers might actually want to buy.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">For example, if you work with men who train for bodybuilding competitions, you might be able to sell supplements like creatine or <a href=\"http:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/click?id=jnCUU*Q38TE&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=359647.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=17094&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yeswellness.com%2Fgenuine-health-fermented-vegan-proteins.html\" class=\"\">protein<\/a> (See what I did here? That protein link is an affiliate product I sell. Buy it and I earn a commission! Just wait... you'll be doing this too in just a minute!).<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">On the other hand, if you write a popular blog about weight loss for women, you might do well selling a proven fat-loss workout guide.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\"><span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">Think about your circle of influence. Who do you have influence over, and what would they buy from you? <\/span><\/span><\/p><h3 class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Step 2: Find the Perfect Affiliate Program to Meet Your Followers' Needs<\/h3><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">As I mentioned already, there are a lot of affiliate programs out there, but in my opinion, many of them sell junk.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">One of the most famous places to find affiliate programs is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clickbank.com\/\">Clickbank<\/a>. Clickbank is home to&nbsp;MANY informational programs you can choose from, as well as a few physical products, but please be careful what you choose. In my experience, there are more bad products than good ones.<\/p><div style=\"width: 1206px\" class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\">\n<span class=\"tve_image_frame\">\n<img class=\"tve_image\" alt=\"Click bank\" src=\"http:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Click-bank.png\" style=\"width: 1206px\" width=\"600\" height=\"37\" scale=\"0\">\n<\/span>\n<\/div><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\"><span class=\"bold_text\">D<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">on't ruin your own reputation by becoming an affiliate for products or programs that don't live up to their promises.<\/span><\/span> Even though you aren't the creator, you are tying your name to these products when you start promoting them.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">\u200bSome of those informational affiliate programs look enticing because the affiliate commissions are huge. The creator <a href=\"http:\/\/growtraffic.com\/blog\/2015\/02\/11-highest-paying-affiliate-programs\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">may give you 75% or more<\/a> from each sale!<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">This makes sense. An information product like an e-book or online course doesn't cost much to deliver to a buyer. Therefore, the creator of such products just wants to sell as many as possible, even if he has to give away 75% from each sale to his affiliates.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Like I said, be careful when choosing these types of products. Ask yourself, \"Will this actually help my clients?\"<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\"><b>My Recommendation:<\/b> <span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">Choose affiliate programs for products that you have personally used and trust.<\/span><\/span> For me, I have found great success selling products on behalf of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yeswellness.com\/\" class=\"\">Yes Wellness<\/a>. <g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_disable_anim_appear Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">Yes<\/g> Wellness offers a huge selection of name brand health supplements that I can feel good about offering to my readers, listeners, and clients.<\/p><div style=\"width: 1206px\" class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\">\n<span class=\"tve_image_frame\">\n<img class=\"tve_image\" alt=\"Yes Wellness\" src=\"http:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Yes-wellness.png\" style=\"width: 1206px\" width=\"600\" height=\"37\" scale=\"0\">\n<\/span>\n<\/div><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Take a look - do you see anything at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yeswellness.com\/\" class=\"\">YesWellness.com<\/a> that your clients would be interested in buying? Would those products help your clients reach their goals? If so, this affiliate program might be a good place for you to start too.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\"><span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">The commissions are much lower when selling physical products (e.g. 8% from every sale for Yes Wellness), BUT I know that people will always need to buy supplements, so there is potential to sell the same product over and over again to the same customer<\/span><\/span>. The lifetime value of affiliate sales from each customer is huge!<\/p><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_contentbox_shortcode\" data-tve-style=\"1\">\n<div class=\"tve_cb tve_cb1 tve_red\" data-tve-custom-colour=\"70528703\">\n<div class=\"tve_hd tve_cb_cnt\" data-tve-custom-colour=\"54211159\">\n<h3 class=\"\" data-tve-custom-colour=\"80588978\">\nPRO TIP: FINDING REPUTABLE AFFILIATE PROGRAMS<\/h3>\n<span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tve_cb_cnt\">\n<p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">If you know the type of product you'd like to sell, simply go to Google and do a search. For example, if I want to sell kettlebells, here's what my search would look like:<\/p><div style=\"width: 1294px\" class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\">\n<span class=\"tve_image_frame\">\n<img class=\"tve_image\" alt=\"Kettlebells\" src=\"http:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Kettlebells.png\" style=\"width: 1294px\" width=\"554\" height=\"37\" scale=\"0\">\n<\/span>\n<\/div><p>Based on this search, I'd definitely take a closer look at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dragondoor.com\/our_difference\/affiliate_program\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Dragon Door's affiliate program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><h3 class=\"\">Step 3. Become an Affiliate\u200b<\/h3><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Once you've determined what your clients might be interested in buying, and you've found a reputable affiliate program that offers the right products and services, it's time to sign up to become an affiliate.<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">\u200bEvery affiliate program has a slightly different sign-up process, so I'll lead you through the one Yes Wellness uses since I'm most familiar with it:<\/p><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">First, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=50859\" target=\"_blank\">click here to visit Share-A-Sale<\/a>, the platform Yes Wellness uses to run its affiliate program.\u200b<\/p><div style=\"width: 1005px\" class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\">\n<span class=\"tve_image_frame\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=50859\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\"><img class=\"tve_image\" alt=\"Share a Sale\" src=\"http:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/share-a-sale1.png\" style=\"width: 1005px\" width=\"600\" height=\"37\" scale=\"0\"><\/a>\n<\/span>\n<\/div><p>Second, complete the online application form.&nbsp;<\/p><div style=\"width: 1005px\" class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\">\n<span class=\"tve_image_frame\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=50859\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\"><img class=\"tve_image\" alt=\"Share a Sale\" src=\"http:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/share-a-sale-2.png\" style=\"width: 1005px\" width=\"600\" height=\"37\" scale=\"0\"><\/a>\n<\/span>\n<\/div><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Third, wait for Yes Wellness to accept you as an affiliate. This process usually takes just a day or two.<\/p><p>That's it!<\/p><h3 class=\"\">Step 4. Promote Your Affiliate Products<\/h3><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Now that you're an affiliate, it's time to begin promoting products to your clients or online followers. But, how are people going to find your affiliate links? Here are a few simple and effective suggestions:<\/p><ol class=\"thrv_wrapper\"><li class=\"\">Create <span class=\"bold_text\">Facebook posts<\/span> that include your affiliate link.<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\"><span class=\"bold_text\">Email your client list<\/span>,&nbsp;telling them about new&nbsp;products they might like (obviously including your affiliate link in the email).\u200b<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\"><span class=\"bold_text\">Talk to your clients in-person<\/span> about a product you'd recommend, and then follow up with an email that links to the product.<\/li><li class=\"\">Record a <span class=\"bold_text\">Youtube video<\/span> that discusses benefits of a particular product. Be sure to include your affiliate link in the description and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C5zzVemi3m4\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">annotations<\/a>.<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Add an image of the product to your <span class=\"bold_text\">Pinterest<\/span> account along with your affiliate link.<\/li><li class=\"\" spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"\">Write a <span class=\"bold_text\">blog post<\/span> that reviews your affiliate products. <a href=\"http:\/\/makeyourbodywork.com\/do-supplements-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Here's one example<\/a> showing how I've done this successfully.<\/li><\/ol><p spellcheck=\"false\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">Once you're set up with a quality affiliate program, the possibilities are endless. <span class=\"bold_text\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\">The most important step is simply getting started<\/span><\/span>.
