Or a better question, <strong><em>what kind of remarketing WORKS<\/em><\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Luckily for you, I\u2019ve got just the 2 systems that will help bring in sales for you, fully automated:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Remarketing Tactic #1: Use Abandoned Cart Emails<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You can recoup around 1 out of 3 of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barilliance.com\/10-reasons-shopping-cart-abandonment\/\" target=\"_blank\">abandoned carts<\/a> by having a simple abandoned cart email sequence in place.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t believe me? <span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d754979e\">A recent marketing study showed that a simple email with a promotional offer can claw back 35% of abandoned carts<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine that! <\/p>\n<p>All automated and easy to set up. Let\u2019s go through how.<\/p>\n<p>First you\u2019ll need to set-up your email software with your website. Did a special deal get you to revisit your abandoned cart?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So, you\u2019ve got the abandoned cart net set up, now it\u2019s time to head to Facebook and make sure you\u2019ve got a solid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.impactbnd.com\/blog\/how-to-create-your-first-facebook-remarketing-campaign\" target=\"_blank\">remarketing campaign<\/a> set up there.<\/p>\n<h2>Remarketing Tactic #2: Implement Tiered Facebook Remarketing<\/h2>\n<p>Before I get into the details of this highly valuable tactic, you need to understand that communications to your customers will VARY depending on their awareness of your product.<\/p>\n<p>Most marketing \u201cexperts\u201d will tell you that your website visitors should be considered \u201c<strong><em>Warm<\/em><\/strong>\u201d traffic leads.<\/p>\n<p>This is bull. <\/p>\n<p>How many websites have you been on without the thought of making a purchase even crossing your mind?<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, countless.<\/p>\n<p data-css=\"tve-u-163d75fa8b2\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d75fd615\">Getting website visitors is a start, but they need more information before they are truly &#8220;warm&#8221; leads<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why your first Facebook remarketing segment will be your website visitors who <strong>HAVEN\u2019T<\/strong> added a product to cart, initiated checkout or purchased. Luckily, Facebook is an unbelievable tool that lets you exclude any of the above from your audience.<\/p>\n<p>I assume you have a Facebook ads account set up or fan page to enable this. If not, please set one up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/help\/community\/question\/?id=10212549711008716\" target=\"_blank\">this guide<\/a> is useful.<\/p>\n<p>Once set up, you\u2019ll need to create a custom audience, which is super easy. Follow the below steps.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>S<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>tep 1<\/u>: Go to ads manager then audiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Step 2<\/u>: Create a custom audience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Step 3<\/u>: Click \u201cwebsite traffic\u201d from the below box<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tve_image wp-image-4533\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"685\" title=\"ega\" data-id=\"4533\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/ega.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/ega.png 625w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/ega-274x300.png 274w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Step 4<\/u>:<\/strong> Include all website visitors from the last 7 days, but exclude both &#8220;add-to-cart last 14 days&#8221; and &#8220;initiate checkout last 28 days.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Remember, you don\u2019t want to show the same remarketing message to website visitors as you do to visitors who added something to their cart or initiated checkout. Those last 2 groups are gold because they&#8217;ve shown <a href=\"http:\/\/adage.com\/article\/bazaarvoice\/define-purchase-intent-data-age\/311297\/\" target=\"_blank\">purchase intent<\/a>, so you need to treat them with care.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tve_image wp-image-4534\" alt=\"\" width=\"668\" height=\"667\" title=\"af\" data-id=\"4534\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/af.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/af.png 668w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/af-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/af-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Step 5<\/u>: Create audience and give it a few hours to go live.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before you go and create an ad, I need you to create 2 more new audiences:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audience 2:<\/strong> Everyone that\u2019s added to cart in the last 14 days but EXCLUDE initiate checkouts last 28 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audience 3:<\/strong> Everyone that\u2019s initiated checkout last 28 days but EXCLUDE purchases last 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>Why do it this way?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s simple&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d767881a\">Regular website traffic needs more warming up. You need to give these visitors more value or more reasons to check out your training plans or personal training deals<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>If they\u2019ve added to cart but didn\u2019t go to checkout, these visitors are still golden, but not as gold as those who went all the way to initiate checkout. Add-to-cart visitors might need a little more work than the initiate checkouts.<\/p>\n<p>This is why we create 3 groups, we create 3 separate messages\/offers for them. Let\u2019s take a look at what I do with Rugby Warfare:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\"><strong>Website Visitors 7 Days<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the ad for this traffic I use more text to explain what the Rugby Warfare brand is all about. I also show them a carousel of the top products worn by professional players from the rugby industry. <\/p>\n<p>My goal is to help give the brand more authority and to lead to the visitors to check out my top products as worn by the pros.<\/p>\n<p>What could you do? <\/p>\n<p data-css=\"tve-u-163d76986db\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d769a97d\">Try showing an ad with your best case studies, transformations, or testimonials. Show them the results you\u2019ve helped clients achieve<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t try to sell yet.<\/strong> Just tell them what you do, show your best results and get them to read. You then add a call-to-action at the end of the case studies to your online plans or personal training sessions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\"><strong>Add To Cart 14 Days&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>These visitors are nearly there, they need a nudge to buy. What could you offer them to get them over the fence?<\/p>\n<p>For me, I simply offer them a free Journal if they order within 48 hours. The results?<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tve_image wp-image-4535\" alt=\"\" width=\"792\" height=\"826\" title=\"asfa\" data-id=\"4535\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/asfa.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/asfa.png 792w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/asfa-288x300.png 288w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/asfa-768x801.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 792px) 100vw, 792px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yep, that\u2019s \u00a30.5 per conversion (+ the cost of the journal which is minimal). This saves me 19 sales per month from add-to-cart people.<\/p>\n<p>My average order value is \u00a352 so this brings in \u00a3988 a month on autopilot.<\/p>\n<p>This will work with ebooks, 12-week workout plans or special personal training packages. <span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d76b001a\">Think of something of value you can add for cheap that makes the offer more enticing<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\"><strong>Initiate Checkout Last 28 Days<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For initiate checkout people I usually make the same offer as I did with the add-to-cart visitors, but with some change of wording. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d76c76f1\">Sometimes I offer something a little more of value such as a t-shirt because I know that a high percentage of these visitors will convert into purchasers<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the results for a month:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tve_image wp-image-4536\" alt=\"\" width=\"796\" height=\"822\" title=\"op\" data-id=\"4536\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/op.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/op.png 796w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/op-291x300.png 291w, https:\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/op-768x793.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 796px) 100vw, 796px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>24 sales for \u00a334.24, and just \u00a31.42 per conversion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On average, I\u2019m saving <u>43 sales a month<\/u> by simply having this remarketing system set up via Facebook ads for a minimal cost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine that with the saved sales from abandoned cart emails and you\u2019re well on your way to clawing back a hefty sum of money.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusions About Remarketing<\/h2>\n<p>You need to put in the work. Did a special deal get you to revisit your abandoned cart?<\/span><\/p><p>So, you\u2019ve got the abandoned cart net set up, now it\u2019s time to head to Facebook and make sure you\u2019ve got a solid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.impactbnd.com\/blog\/how-to-create-your-first-facebook-remarketing-campaign\" target=\"_blank\">remarketing campaign<\/a> set up there.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_heading\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0a81d64\"><h2>Remarketing Tactic #2: Implement Tiered Facebook Remarketing<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p>Before I get into the details of this highly valuable tactic, you need to understand that communications to your customers will VARY depending on their awareness of your product.<\/p><p>Most marketing \u201cexperts\u201d will tell you that your website visitors should be considered \u201c<strong><em>Warm<\/em><\/strong>\u201d traffic leads.<\/p><p>This is bull. <\/p><p>How many websites have you been on without the thought of making a purchase even crossing your mind?<\/p><p>Yeah, countless.<\/p><p data-css=\"tve-u-163d75fa8b2\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d75fd615\">Getting website visitors is a start, but they need more information before they are truly \"warm\" leads<\/span>.<\/p><p>That's why your first Facebook remarketing segment will be your website visitors who <strong>HAVEN\u2019T<\/strong> added a product to cart, initiated checkout or purchased. Luckily, Facebook is an unbelievable tool that lets you exclude any of the above from your audience.<\/p><p>I assume you have a Facebook ads account set up or fan page to enable this. If not, please set one up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/help\/community\/question\/?id=10212549711008716\" target=\"_blank\">this guide<\/a> is useful.<\/p><p>Once set up, you\u2019ll need to create a custom audience, which is super easy. Follow the below steps.<\/p><p><strong><u>S<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>tep 1<\/u>: Go to ads manager then audiences.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Step 2<\/u>: Create a custom audience<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Step 3<\/u>: Click \u201cwebsite traffic\u201d from the below box<\/strong><\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0a8a6b3\"><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img class=\"tve_image wp-image-4533\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"685\" title=\"ega\" data-id=\"4533\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/ega.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p><strong><u>Step 4<\/u>:<\/strong> Include all website visitors from the last 7 days, but exclude both \"add-to-cart last 14 days\" and \"initiate checkout last 28 days.\" <\/p><p>Remember, you don\u2019t want to show the same remarketing message to website visitors as you do to visitors who added something to their cart or initiated checkout. Those last 2 groups are gold because they've shown <a href=\"http:\/\/adage.com\/article\/bazaarvoice\/define-purchase-intent-data-age\/311297\/\" target=\"_blank\">purchase intent<\/a>, so you need to treat them with care.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0a93dc0\"><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img class=\"tve_image wp-image-4534\" alt=\"\" width=\"668\" height=\"667\" title=\"af\" data-id=\"4534\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/af.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p><strong><u>Step 5<\/u>: Create audience and give it a few hours to go live.<\/strong><\/p><p>Before you go and create an ad, I need you to create 2 more new audiences:<\/p><p><strong>Audience 2:<\/strong> Everyone that\u2019s added to cart in the last 14 days but EXCLUDE initiate checkouts last 28 days.<\/p><p><strong>Audience 3:<\/strong> Everyone that\u2019s initiated checkout last 28 days but EXCLUDE purchases last 30 days.<\/p><p>Why do it this way?<\/p><p>It\u2019s simple...<\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d767881a\">Regular website traffic needs more warming up. You need to give these visitors more value or more reasons to check out your training plans or personal training deals<\/span>.<\/p><p>If they\u2019ve added to cart but didn\u2019t go to checkout, these visitors are still golden, but not as gold as those who went all the way to initiate checkout. Add-to-cart visitors might need a little more work than the initiate checkouts.<\/p><p>This is why we create 3 groups, we create 3 separate messages\/offers for them. Let\u2019s take a look at what I do with Rugby Warfare:<\/p><h3 class=\"\"><strong>Website Visitors 7 Days<\/strong><\/h3><p><strong> <\/strong><\/p><p>In the ad for this traffic I use more text to explain what the Rugby Warfare brand is all about. I also show them a carousel of the top products worn by professional players from the rugby industry. <\/p><p>My goal is to help give the brand more authority and to lead to the visitors to check out my top products as worn by the pros.<\/p><p>What could you do? <\/p><p data-css=\"tve-u-163d76986db\"><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d769a97d\">Try showing an ad with your best case studies, transformations, or testimonials. Show them the results you\u2019ve helped clients achieve<\/span>. <\/p><p><strong>Don\u2019t try to sell yet.<\/strong> Just tell them what you do, show your best results and get them to read. You then add a call-to-action at the end of the case studies to your online plans or personal training sessions.<\/p><h3 class=\"\"><strong>Add To Cart 14 Days&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3><p>These visitors are nearly there, they need a nudge to buy. What could you offer them to get them over the fence?<\/p><p>For me, I simply offer them a free Journal if they order within 48 hours. The results?<\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0aa2f07\"><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img class=\"tve_image wp-image-4535\" alt=\"\" width=\"792\" height=\"826\" title=\"asfa\" data-id=\"4535\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/asfa.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p>Yep, that\u2019s \u00a30.5 per conversion (+ the cost of the journal which is minimal). This saves me 19 sales per month from add-to-cart people.<\/p><p>My average order value is \u00a352 so this brings in \u00a3988 a month on autopilot.<\/p><p>This will work with ebooks, 12-week workout plans or special personal training packages. <span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d76b001a\">Think of something of value you can add for cheap that makes the offer more enticing<\/span>.<\/p><h3 class=\"\"><strong>Initiate Checkout Last 28 Days<\/strong><\/h3><p>For initiate checkout people I usually make the same offer as I did with the add-to-cart visitors, but with some change of wording. <\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: rgb(239, 232, 88);\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d76c76f1\">Sometimes I offer something a little more of value such as a t-shirt because I know that a high percentage of these visitors will convert into purchasers<\/span>.<\/p><p>Here are the results for a month:<\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper tve_image_caption img_style_lifted_style2\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0aaa6e8\"><span class=\"tve_image_frame\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><img class=\"tve_image wp-image-4536\" alt=\"\" width=\"796\" height=\"822\" title=\"op\" data-id=\"4536\" src=\"\/\/www.totalcoaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/op.png\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p>24 sales for \u00a334.24, and just \u00a31.42 per conversion.<\/p><p><strong>On average, I\u2019m saving <u>43 sales a month<\/u> by simply having this remarketing system set up via Facebook ads for a minimal cost.<\/strong><\/p><p>Combine that with the saved sales from abandoned cart emails and you\u2019re well on your way to clawing back a hefty sum of money.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_heading\" data-tag=\"h2\" data-css=\"tve-u-163d0aae1e4\"><h2>Conclusions About Remarketing<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element tve_empty_dropzone\"><p>You need to put in the work.
